Arc Advocacy Services:
About us



Arc Advocacy Services, is a related organization with The Arc of Montgomery, Berks & Bucks Counties offering advocacy services to all residents within the three (3) counties.  Arc Advocacy assists people with a diagnosis of Intellectual Cognitive and Developmental Disabilities and can include Autism Spectrum Disorders, Mental Retardation, Mental Health and other Developmental Disabilities. In Berks County, Arc Advocacy Services administers the Independent Monitoring for Quality (IM4Q) Program that interviews consumers to record their quality of life and to obtain their perspective on the services that they receive.  The primary mission is to assist people of all ages to obtain the rights and resources they require to become, to the fullest extent possible, independent, self sufficient, participating and contributing members of their community.

Arc Advocacy offers families and self advocates assistance with all levels of residential living (group homes); employment and training; home and community based staffing; habilitation; and Special Education issues.  Arc Advocacy Services offers personal support as Representative Payee to safeguard and expense governmental entitlements and also guardianship for individuals who require either or both services. Arc Advocacy also provide individuals assistance with access to governmental benefits such as Medicare, Medicaid, SSI, SSDI, and Center for Medicaid Service Waivers.  The Advocacy staff can provide direct advocacy intervention to individuals, as well as, addressing system wide issues in an effort to work towards improving the various systems that impact on the lives of these individuals.

Monthly training and information presentations are provided in Montgomery, Berks and Bucks Counties.  Trainings topics are based on volume of requested information and/or developing trends seen as a result of the data collection system. Please visit the Arc Advocacy Services interactive Blog.  This portion of the website will be monitored daily and will offer a description of the organizations services, as well as, valuable insight and timely information on issues effecting consumers and families and will answer and request comment on questions placed on the website.
